Ishara Bodasingh

Ishara is an Advocate of the High Court with extensive criminal law and litigation experience. She has played a leadership role in the spearheading South Africa’s national anti-corruption work, focussing on policy, monitoring, evaluation and international anti-corruption co-operation. She has a well-developed knowledge base on a range of developmental issues, including poverty reduction, public service reform, and governance,and has a solid track record as an effective public sector manager.

She has had active participation in international forums and negotiation of multilateral instruments and a good understanding of international and donor relations. Ishara is experienced in dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Committees, Directors-General, professionals, civil society, general public and an international audience. She holds a Masters’ in Comparative Law from the University of Delhi and BA and LLB degrees from the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
